What is Dekton® stone?
Dekton® is a surface that is made from several materials. The materials are found in a variety of raw materials and processed to create this surface called Dekton®.
This new product is made from a mixture of inorganic raw materials that are found in glass, porcelain tiles and natural quartz. The PST (Particle Sintering Technology) process is a way to speed up the process of metamorphism, using extreme heat and pressure much like the natural process. This process was exclusively developed by Cosentino.

Dekton® is a very desirable material that many homeowners love. Granite and quartz are natural stone options that have these characteristics to a degree but Dekton® surfaces are more UV resistant, less porous, and more temperature resistant.

They include a non-porous finish that is generated by the sintering process making them highly scratch resistant. Cosentino does recommend using a cutting board to protect your utensils from the surface, not to protect your surface from the utensils.
The non-porous surface also means it’s stain-resistant and heat resistant.
