Case Study: Arabescato Cremo Quartz in a Modern Bungalow Renovation3 min read

Bungalow renovations are so exciting and one of the most influential. With generous footprints and opportunity for reconfiguration, homeowners can create open, light-filled spaces that feel contemporary and grounded. Our Welwyn Garden City project allows the kitchen to become the true focal point of the transformation.

As part of this impressive project, we supplied, fabricated and installed Artemistone Cremo quartz to the heart of the home. This surface brings an understated elegance, movement, and architectural cohesion that’s loved.

The Layout Was Designed to Flow

The kitchen was designed as a long galley space, with quartz worktops installed on both sides to maximise preparation space and maintain the calm, practical flow our client wanted. Galley kitchens are a modern layout that takes advantage of the available space, creating efficiency, symmetry and a sense of order.

This renovation shows how two continuous runs of Arabescato Cremo enhance the flow. The surface stretches seamlessly along both sides, reinforcing clean lines and a balanced layout rather than being narrow.

The result – a space beautifully designed for daily living.

Architectural Detailing for the Win

What makes this installation particularly unique is the use of quartz as an architectural focal point. At the sink side, the worktop rises into a taller upstand that flows into the window sill, creating a cohesive visual line, eliminating material breaks and giving the cabinetry run a more bespoke, tailored appearance.

Opposite this section, the quartz continues behind the hob as a full-height splashback. This not only protects the wall but also creates a dramatic focal point. The veining travels up and across, adding movement and depth while maintaining a clean, low-maintenance surface.

Making design decisions like these upgrades the kitchen from standard to exceptional.

The Beauty of Arabescato Cremo

Artemistone Arabescato Cremo is a truly luxurious quartz surface that echoes the natural beauty of this marble. This soft white base is layered with strong gold and grey veining that introduces warmth and personality without overpowering the cabinetry. With just a subtle look, it captures light beautifully, bringing this narrow galley to life.

A balance of boldness and refinement reflects a wider interior trend, with homeowners moving towards marble-inspired surfaces, and Arabescato Cremo achieves statement veining and practicality.

Adding a Luxury Upgrade With Quartz

Quartz worktops are the most sought-after upgrades in kitchen renovations. They offer:

  • Exceptional durability
  • Resistance to staining and scratching
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Consistent patterning
  • A premium, architectural finish
  • Plenty of designs, finishes and colours

Homeowners are investing in surfaces that look beautiful and perform effortlessly in their modern home renovation. Quartz delivers the combination of luxury and longevity.

In this bungalow renovation, the quartz worktop defines the space, frames the window, creates the splashback and shapes the kitchen’s identity.

This Surface Completed Our Client’s Vision

Paired with the natural coloured cabinetry, Arabescato Cremo strikes the perfect balance between crisp and contemporary and warm and inviting. The design enhances the room rather than dominating it, making the room feel comfortable.

Our Welwyn Garden City project demonstrates how the right surface choice can transform a kitchen renovation the right way. This quartz becomes more than a worktop; it’s a defining feature of the home that can be seen as soon as you enter the home.
