How is quartz made?
- The raw materials are inspected, carefully selected and tested for quality.

- The mould goes through a process called vibro-compression, where it’s vibrated and compressed under a vacuum to remove any air bubbles and to further compact the quartz mixture.
- A curing kiln heats the product to 90°C to harden the resins and bind them firmly to ensure the slab is solid and stable.
- The slab is then polished to achieve a smooth, glossy finish – there are other finishes available, honed or matte.
- Each slab is inspected for quality and consistency before being cut into specific sizes.
- The quality control checks include colour consistency, strength, and aesthetic appeal. Once approved, the slabs are distributed to fabricators, who cut them into worktops, splashbacks, wall cladding and other installations.
How is quartz cut?
