We helped transform a vast open-plan space into a warm, elegant, and beautifully layered environment with modern materials. With an abundance of natural light, high ceilings, generous seating areas, a multi-functional kitchen, and an impressive entertaining zone featuring a drinks dresser, this home provides an ideal canvas for a multi-material design.

Why Our Client Chose Three Different Stones
Our client wanted to present their home with the choice of carefully layered materials throughout. They had the opportunity to create depth, definition and personality in their kitchen and decided on three durable stones to balance functionality with visual impact.
1. Ascale Onice White – Kitchen Runs, Island, Splashback & Floating Shelf
This radiant sintered stone was chosen for the main kitchen to introduce a statement island, convenient splashbacks and a unique floating shelf. Being an illuminous stone, it brightens up the space and reflects the abundance of natural light around. Within the stone’s texture, delicate golden veining adds warmth and echoes the farmhouse’s rustic charm. Ascale products are durable and heat-resistant, making them ideal for food prep zones.
2. Caesarstone Wyndigo – Breakfast Bar Seating
Selected for the breakfast bar section of the island, Wyndigo brings in a soft contrast that complements both the cabinetry and the surrounding natural textures from the wood. The warm, earthy gradients flow across a greige surface veined with cloud-like textures, and the material’s mineral composition offers durability and organic character.
Our client decided to visually separate the seating area from the main working zones and enhance it with a waterfall end and a lower level.
3. BStone Florentine – Drinks Dresser
To bring the drinks dresser to life, the worktop, splashback and floating shelves are what bring serenity to the entertaining area. This warm white marble-inspired surface includes soft golden and light grey veins that perfectly complement the farmhouse textures. This is definitely an inviting atmosphere.
Filling a Modern Farmhouse with Different Materials
To bring a unique charm to the distinctive property, the combination of three different stones allowed us to:
- Create a subtle contrast without overwhelming the room
- Introduce varying textures and materials that feel fresh and timeless
- Ensure practicality on every surface
Why the Trio Works in This Project
It might seem a little daring to choose three different stones, but when carefully selected, they create a layered, designer-led look. Why did the combination work so well?
- We shared the warmth of each stone from the gold, grey and greige hues.
- The different materials subtly define the areas of cooking, prepping, dining, and entertaining.
- We have balanced the three stones where bold veining meets soft, neutral surfaces.
