Which Calacatta design has the boldest veining?
Calacatta Supreme and Calacatta Oro carry the heaviest, most defined veining, and Black Fusion gives the strongest contrast with deep black veins against white. If you want something subtler, Calacatta Alaska and Calacatta Venatino are the quieter designs in the range.
Is Nilestone Calacatta quartz or marble?
It is engineered quartz, not natural marble. The composition is 92 to 95% ground natural quartz bound with 5 to 8% polymer resin. It reproduces the appearance of Calacatta marble while being non-porous, far more resistant to staining and etching, and requiring no sealing.
How does Calacatta quartz compare with real Calacatta marble?
Marble is the genuine article and has a depth that engineered stone cannot fully match, but it is porous, etches on contact with anything acidic such as lemon or wine, and needs sealing and care. Quartz gives you a very close look with none of that maintenance, which is why most kitchens choose it.
Which Calacatta suits a kitchen island?
The boldly veined designs make the strongest islands, because an island is viewed as a whole and can carry a large-scale pattern. Supreme, Oro and Viola all work well. On a run of perimeter worktop, broken up by a hob and sink, a quieter design often looks better.
