Something quite popular within our client’s homes throughout the years is a Carrara quartz. A timeless marble style that works with both traditional and contemporary interiors – no wonder why they are ever so popular. It’s known for its soft white hue and smokey grey veins that scatter throughout the surface.
Quartz is one of the hardest stone materials, man-made, scratch resistant, extremely durable and provides a non-porous surface that is resistant to stains and abrasions too.
A renovated home in Harpenden needed the perfect worktops to finish off the two-tone shaker kitchen. When our client came down to the showroom, they had an idea of what they wanted but were spoilt for choice from major UK brands. They opted for something truly beautiful – an iconic luxury Italian stone, a Carrara quartz.
The kitchen design is a great example of what can be done with careful planning and the use of online inspiration from platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest. A large open-plan space and an island centred in the middle that has lots of worktop space.
When speaking with our client the brief was fresh, neutral, and something appealing. They love entertaining and wanted to create a statement piece in the middle of the open-plan space by painting the kitchen island in an alternative colour to host their guest while they cook. No conversation is missed out!
We added upstands around the kitchen layout and added drainer grooves to the sink area. Every inch of space is utilised perfectly and the quartz worktops really shine through.
