Outdoor Kitchens – A Fun Addition to the Home3 min read

When the weather is good to us we can’t think of a better good-weather activity than cooking and eating outside. We have seen ourselves spending more time at home and in the garden during the last couple of years. Homes are fast becoming spaces in which we live, work, play and entertain. Outdoor spaces are an extension of the home; a place where you can open the doors, soak up the sunshine, enjoy a coffee, read a book, prepare a delicious alfresco meal, or indulge in an aperitif all with family and friends. Of course, it can be used in the Winter too, just wouldn’t be as good if it was raining!

When planning an outdoor kitchen there are a few key things you need to consider. It could be relatively simple, like a feature that replicates the interior of your home or something all out, of course, it will depend on your budget and space available.

The most straightforward outdoor kitchen designs could include a bbq, pizza oven, and prep space, but an ultimate outdoor kitchen might include a bbq with a side burner, a sink and fridge, and lots of prep space with storage.

An outdoor kitchen we completed

This outdoor kitchen we completed in the Summer of 2021 features the Bianca Eclipsia quartzite supplied by @themarbleandgranitecentreltd in a 30mm thickness. Due to the clients love for cooking they decided to build an outdoor living space that included a sleek and versatile BBQ worksurface area that became the ideal place to entertain family and friends in the Summer months.

Bianca Eclipsia quartzite is a very strong material that originated from Brazil. The off-white to white-grey natural stone displays big grey veins varying in both pattern and shade of colour. Denser than granite this material truly lets you feel what a natural stone has to offer. It brings a perfect mix of looks and performance which allows usage on demanding areas and applications.

Something that we became obsessed with was the Outdoor Gas Grill by Wolf that features in the outdoor kitchen. This state-of-the-art outdoor grill gives you precision control and ease-of-use features at its indoor counterparts. The juicy possibilities are endless allowing you to sear a fillet, grill vegetables, and smoke trout or applewood bacon.

The robust stainless steel finish looks outstanding next to the quartzite, halogen lights illuminate the grilling surface and the famous signature red control knobs really set it off, it may be the last grill you’ll ever need to buy.

The Outdoor Collection by Caesarstone

Caesarstone launched its Outdoor Collection in 2020 – an inspiring range designed to elevate one’s outdoor space and transform it into an environment to be enjoyed all year round, the most perfect BBQ worktops. It has taken many years to develop this outdoor worktop collection but it was launched in the best year when we appreciated our gardens more than ever before.

These three stones have been beautifully designed, so even after long-term exposure to the sun they will always retain their original colour.  They have been meticulously tested to withstand harsh sunlight and variable temperatures ensuring they remain highly UV and weather-resistant at all times. Each one provides the answer to every homeowner’s desire to cook, dine and entertain from the comfort of their own garden.

  • 515 Palm Shade – a classic look of white marble with a subtle warm veining
